Deep garnet in colour with a wonderful aromatic bouquet of black cherry, currant, licorice, dried herbs, forest floor and cigar box. This Cabernet Franc is medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and moderate acidity. Flavours of currant, blackberry, spice, oak and tobacco mingle on the palate. Black tea, black currant, spice and herbal notes linger on the extra dry finish. Aged for 12 months in 70% French oak and 30% American oak barrels. Excellent with 2-year-old Canadian cheddar with walnuts and fresh crusty bread; grilled beef tenderloin with Cabernet jus and stir-fry of wild mushrooms; steak with peppercorn sauce; herb crusted rack of lamb; flat-iron steak with roasted potatoes; Rib-eye topped with crispy onion rings; pot roast.
